What changed in the tax law?
Congress passed a major tax law in July 2025. People call it the One Big Beautiful Bill. It created four brand new deductions for tax years 2025 through 2028. Tips, overtime premium pay, car loan interest, and an extra deduction for seniors.
These deductions are special. You can claim them even if you take the standard deduction. You claim them on a new form called Schedule 1-A. Millions of workers qualify and many do not know it yet.
The same law also replaced the old income driven student loan plans. The new plan is called RAP. It opened for enrollment on July 1, 2026.
The law also created Trump Accounts, a new type of IRA for children that launched July 4, 2026. Children born 2025 to 2028 get a $1,000 government deposit.
Each tool on this site explains the rules in simple words anyone can follow. Then it does the math for you.
